HOT: Michelle Williams to Have Film Screened for the Queen
She may be an American, but Michelle Williams learned this week that she’s about to receive a very royal honor: Queen Elizabeth II will hold a private screening of the upcoming film My Week with Marilyn, which depicts Her Highness’ meeting with Ms. Monroe during the summer of 1956. As star of the highly anticipated period flick – which chronicles the time Marilyn Monroe spent in England filming The Prince and the Showgirl – Michelle and crew were awarded the very rare privilege of filming inside Windsor Palace by Queen Elizabeth II herself. The Queen also reportedly indulged in a private screening of The King’s Speech last year, which won four Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Colin Firth. Does this mean a Queen-endorsed screening could bestow some award-winning luck on Michelle and My Week with Marilyn? Only time will tell, but we’re sure that the Queen’s seal of approval certainly won’t hurt their chances!
