HOT: Betty White Hops on the Twitter Train
Betty White’s gone and done it again – something completely endearing and adorable, that is. Just when we thought she couldn’t get any cuter, the 90 year old up and joined the Twitter-verse, proving you’re never too old to get synced with social media. Betty’s made a major comeback in recent years, and it’s not just because of her self-deprecating humor – she also has the unique ability to appeal to young and old alike (remember the social media campaign that successfully landed Betty her first gig as host of “Saturday Night Live”?) Her new candid camera show “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers,” which stars senior citizens playing pranks on younger folks, premieres tonight, and Betty joined Twitter just in time to promote her latest comic venture. We love that Betty’s willing to do whatever it takes to get a good laugh, even if it means virtually hitting on Ryan Seacrest, who’s 50 some odd years her junior: one of her first tweets was “Hey @RyanSeacrest - my new show airs tomorrow and I hear we're in the same time slot. I've always dreamed of sharing a night with you…” Betty’s career is undoubtedly one of the longest and most accomplished in Hollywood, but we hope she’ll continue making us laugh for many years to come!
