Fall is almost here, but there’s no need to pack away your summer splurges just yet. The trends haven’t changed all that much, so all you need is a little seasonal updating. WORKS has taken some of our favorite summer trends and made them fit for fall.

peasant.jpgPeasant Tops. The airy linen kept you cool and dry throughout the summer, and the thought of replacing it with wool sweaters makes you cringe—so don’t. Instead of short shorts, pair the peasant top with super-skinny jeans in a dark wash and add a cropped blazer or lightweight cardigan. When the mornings get a bit too brisk, add a long knit scarf to give your look a classic ’70s vibe. One to try: Intuition’s Puff Sleeve Smock ($90; shopintuition.com)

wide.jpgWide-Leg Pants. Even though your wedge sandal days are numbered, it doesn’t mean your super-flared pants have to follow suit. Make this summer trend more seasonal by opting for a trendy patent-leather oxford shoe and adding a tighter top with a glossy wide belt. Cropped blazers over a longer belted top will also make this look one of your fall favorites. One to try: Paige Premium Denim “Hillhurst” Wide Leg Jeans ($198; bloomingdales.com)

printed.jpgPrint Dresses. Nothing said summer like bright, whimsical prints on tiny sheaths. But with the right accessories, your favorite frock can stay in the front of your closet. Ditch the peep-toes and add black opaque tights, high boots, or Mary Janes. One to try: French Connection’s Jungle Canopy Dress ($118; fcusbuymail.com)

white.jpgWhite Pants. While you need to part with the linen and cotton pants, white pants in a heavier fabric like denim or wool can take you through October. Add a thick sweater in a dark color like gray or black to balance out the seasonal gap. Then pair with a dark patent pump, ankle boot, or high boot. One to try: 7 For All Mankind Jackie Pant in Clean White ($172; 7forallmankind.com)
