October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the fashion industry is doing its part for the cause by donating a portion of its proceeds to breast cancer research. In other words, when you go shopping, you’re helping to save lives. (Get thee to the mall, ASAP!) Here, a few products worth picking up.
Beautiful Bangle: You could tie a pink ribbon around your wrist, but why not go for something a bit more glam, like this Vita faux-snakeskin band with gold-plated clasp? For each bracelet purchased, $44 will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure fund. ($66; Revolveclothing.com)
Dressing the Part: You may be invited to a benefit or two for breast cancer, so why not buy a dress that, um, benefits the cause? Check out Bloomingdale’s Little Pink Boutique (open throughout October). Proceeds from items like this adorable Nicole Miller strapless bubble dress will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. ($365; Bloomingdales.com)
Buy the Bag: Feeling guilty about shelling out big bucks for yet another satchel? Well, don’t. Log on to Bon-Luxe.com and purchase a purse marked “Cure Items” (we like this Fino clutch with vintage brocade by Kotur). One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. ($368; Bon-Luxe.com)
Key Keepers: Can’t find your keys—again? Keep them in check with this Coach multi-charm key fob. With five different charms, this will surely add some color—and help you locate your keys faster—in a feminine and fun way. Coach will donate 20% of its proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. ($58: Coach.com)
Casual Corner: This limited-edition pink camouflage ribbed tank top is perfect for going to the gym, running errands, or wearing under a sweater for added color. And, of course, 25% of the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. ($42; Splendid.com)
Diva of Denim: If you’ve been meaning to splurge on a new pair of jeans, now is the time. J & Company—a favorite denim line of Katherine Heigl, Eva Longoria, and Jessica Alba—has a special breast-cancer-awareness jean. Complete with a signature back pocket adorned with rows of pink and white crystals, these jeans are perfect for a Saturday night out. What’s better: 20% of the purchase will be donated to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. ($170; Jandcompany.com)
