NOT: Simon Monjack Trying to Profit Off of Brittany Murphy's Death
As though the public rants and threats to sue the movie industry over breaking his late wife, Brittany Murphy's heart, weren't enough, Simon Monjack has reached a whole new level of tacky by charging people to attend a memorial for his wife. The event, which was scheduled for tomorrow, was apparently a launch for the newly formed Brittany Murphy Foundation, and Monjack was asking attendees to cough up $1,000 to attend. ($10,000 for corporations.) The event has since been canceled because Monjack apparently has pneumonia. Really Simon? Though your wife's death was tragic and way, way, too premature, at least it was classy. Which is more than we can say for you.
