Shawn Johnson Takes Dancing Title
Who says dancers have to be six foot and stick-thin? Seventeen-year-old Olympian gymnast Shawn Johnson defied stereotypes (and aerodynamics) when she added a new trophy to her collection last night. (You might want to keep this one in the attic though, Shawn—that crystal ball thingy is too hideous for show.) The agile 4-foot-9 teen won the Dancing With the Stars competition by a margin of less than one percent, beating out reality star Melissa Rycroft and actor Gilles Marini. “I learned I can be more than just a gymnast!” she squealed to Usmagazine.com. Finally, a role model for teens who’s not pulling the trigger and could beat up any boyfriend who tried to mess with her.
