HOT: Ellen Takes Charge on Idol
Ellen DeGeneres hasn't even appeared on camera yet as American Idol's fourth judge, but she's already started calling the shots. Not only did she accuse fellow judge Simon Cowell of being "meaner than I thought," but the the talk show host also isn't putting up with his prima donna like behavior. Reports surfaced last week that when Cowell was more than an hour late for Degeneres's first taping, she insisted they start without him—and the crew obliged. Though Cowell was reportedly annoyed that the taping had gotten underway, he did offer an apology to his new co-judge for his tardy treatment. Simon Cowell making nice with his colleagues? Somewhere, Paula must be seething.
