Are you kidding me? You honestly think that Palin should just laugh along when her children are being disgustingly disparaged by Letterman to millions of people?

Even if Letterman was talking about Bristol, it's still disgusting, and in no way was Bristol Palin running for office or engaging the public, especially as she was pregnant and after giving birth. If anything, I'd criticize the guy who did knock her up and proceeded to go around the talk show circuit himself.

Letterman should have enough knowledge to know who was actually with Palin at the Yankees game, rather than accidentally targeting a 14-year-old. Criticize him for not getting his facts straight while he makes fun of Palin, who actually took part in a walk to help fund the fight against autism in New York.

Palin should be lauded for protecting her children and doing something to end a serious affliction of many other children and standing up against Letterman, all in one week.

Angry Palin is correct in standing up!

Palin is correct in her statement. The world has become a too accomodating place in where nothing is sacred or taboo. It is my opinion that this type of joke on a underage person should not be acceptable and should be punishable through some means of the media. Young women should not be exploited or commented about in the manner that Letterman joked about. And I definately disagree with that statement that as a politician she should be able to take a joke. Her children should not be the topic of some old late night talk show host trying to boost his rating. His response to her and his attempt at an apology is despicable. I for one have found his humor in complete bad taste lately and will discontinue watching anything he is involved in.

Completely dissatisfied with the new "acceptable" behavior of "today"

Hurrah for Governor Palin for standing up for her children. Governor Palin took many shots during the Presidential campaign and did so with humor and humility. Seems that I remember her on Saturday Night Live poking fun at herself and laughing along with a skit that was aimed straight at her. I think she has proven she can take a joke.

Jokes and/or attacks against the children of politcians are NEVER appropriate or acceptable. I think that David Letterman made the worst career move of the week. He should be ashamed.

Perhaps we should put the shoe on the other foot and ask if David Letterman's comments would still be funny and considered a joke if they had been aimed at Malia and Sasha? Hmmm....I'm thinking not so much.

Kudos to Governor Palin. Her children are off limits. David Letterman's comments were way out of bounds. I think she should be listed under best career move! Putting her family first.

Thumbs down I am shocked by the 'Worst Career Move'

How is standing up for your family a bad career move? Palin should stand by while Letterman jokes that steriod using, adulterous A-Rod raped her 14 year old daughter?
The 'Worst Career Move' should have gone to Letterman.
Regardless of whether or not he was mistaken about which daughter was with the Palins, he still joked about one of their daughters being raped. Statutory or not, it's not funny.
Can you imagine what would happen if Bill O'Reilly made the same comment about Sasha or Malia?
I am shocked and disappointed that this site would actually say that Palin overreacted. She stood up for her family and women in general. That is something I would think this site, as well as all other women's sites, would be proud of.

Thumbs down Disappointed, again

So after receiving negative comments about the original post, you completely change your view of the worst career move of the week. I think that's cowardly and dishonest.
The original post ripped into Sarah Palin, saying she overreacted and needs to go away. Now you are saying that Letterman is the bad guy, but still have the picture of Palin displayed.
I am disappointed that you can't even stand by your original opinion, however controversial it was. At least disclose the fact that you completely flip-flopped your views.

Thumbs down Wth!

The original post and e-mail that went out totally ripped Sarah Palin to shreds stating that she can't take a joke.

How cowardly and hypocritical of you to go back and change your "opinion" to mirror that of the majority of respondents. I suppose it didn't help either that the majority of the American public came down on Gov. Palin's side of this debacle.

SHAME ON YOU....now YOU made the worst career move of the week!
