Cubicle Confession

Dear Nicole,
I’ve been warned about using my work e-mail to discuss anything personal, so when I need to vent to a friend about my ass of a boss I use Google chat. Hey, everyone has the right to vent. Well, it turns out that one evening when I went home early, my boss somehow logged into my computer and got onto my Gmail account (my password must have been automatically saved). She printed out all of my conversations that mentioned her and took them straight to HR. I was fired, but wasn’t the company breaking some sort of privacy law by breaking into my personal e-mail account? Should I fight the firing?
Sincerely,
Cheated Chatter
