This morning, Claire summoned me to her office to tell me that she was putting me and Naomi in charge of the entire trend line. It was a one two punch, first the good news, then the Naomi news. I’m pretty sure that it was the latter, which caused me to blurt, “Arg!”
To her credit, I swear that Claire cracked a 1/16th smile when I said it. She does seem to derive pleasure from pushing the two of us together every chance she gets.
Maybe she thinks we help balance each other out. Naomi supplies the synthetic fabrics, I supply the European labels or something ying yangy like that. Or maybe Claire just loves to see her workers squirm. Either way, I’ll take it.
Anyway, I’m on my way to my first strategy meeting with the Nay-Nay now. And if you think I’m not bringing tweezers and an eyebrow pencil, you’re crazy. I can look the other way when it comes to some of her crazy get ups, but there’s no way I can sit across the table from her and pay attention to anything other than her warring wildebeest eyebrows. They will be tamed I tell you, they will be tamed.
