Even the Shoes Were Pink

The presentation went awesome. Or should I say awesomely? The presentation rocked.

Sure there were some rocky moments. Like when Naomi blazed in dressed in her special meeting outfit—a bright pink 80's double breasted power suit. Shoulder pads? Check! Super inappropriately tight skirt? Check! Involuntary cringe face triggered? Check!

But Naomi did a great job of sticking to our talking points and really hammering home everything we'd prepared. I have to say, I really appreciate her focus. I have a tendency to ad lib here and there (stop rolling your eyes please, it isn't nice), and when nervous, my ramblings have a tendency to become quite junior high in nature*. So I often spend hours post-meeting rocking back and forth, thinking, "Did you have to use the word bitchin in front of the CEO?"

Anyway, corporate probably isn't going to go with every one of our suggestions, but I think it's safe to say that somewhere around 80% will make it into production. Have you ever had one of those business moments when you thought to yourself, "wow, it's finally really happening." Well I had two or three of those on Monday and they were delicious.

Afterward, Ali and I snuck out to Central Park to have a salad picnic as planned. But as soon as we picked a spot and settled in, a passing bird doodooed on my romaine. Revolting no? But also, a strong sign of more good luck to come.

So yeah, the presentation went awesome.

*and also when not nervous.
