Well Ali's single again. She said she's ready for an upgrade. We went to Tia Pol last night and shared a bottle of Spanish wine and three of their delicious, thimble sized deserts. I highly recommend a trip to Tia as a palate cleanser between relationships. It's so yummy and since the whole restaurant is crammed into what is essentially a hallway, there's a whole "where will we go next" vibe that's perfect for betweensies. More and more these days, Ali is straddling the fence between best friend and mentor. I mean, she still makes me laugh chocolate shake out my nose, but the way that she has consistently bounded upward in her career, regardless of financial crisis (or anything else) leaves me awestruck at times. Her boyfriend trajectory is sorta similar. He used to be the DJ at Bungalow, or the street wear designer with his own boutique. Now he is (was) the guy with the dreamiest yacht on the Amalfi. It's nuts. Thankfully, I'm not the jealous type, and love having her as a resource. I mean, how else would I know to ask for a raise (at work and in the relationship) every. single. year.?
