Tuesday Morning Quarterbacking

26 May 2009
8:35 a.m.

I'm feeling a bit hung over today. I guess it's because:

A. I'm still stinging a bit from having to break it off with Mr. Fixer.

B. Ali made it clear that she in no way approves of my decision, which makes me feel like an ass.

C. I am (drum roll please) actually quite hung over.

Fixer handled the dumping with dignity, which just made him seem like an even bigger gem. We met near his apartment and grabbed coffees to go. I find that I prefer to breakup outdoors. Is that evil? So, like I said, he was very gracious and charming about it. As he was leaving he said, "You do realize that you are a complete fucking idiot right?" And I said, "Affirmative," And he said, "Bye honey."

Gulp.

The fact that he went out so sweetly killed me. In other news, Bloke and I made the most of the long weekend, hitting a seemingly endless stream of rooftop/poolside barbecues. Good silly fun. But honestly, it's all a lot. Naomi just stuck her head in the door and goes (I'm not even joking) "tisk tisk."

Me: Who SAYS that?

Naomi: I do!

Me: And why am I being tisked pray tell?

Naomi: Cause you're a coffee cheater.

Me: Oh my God woman, you are truly insane.

Naomi: Well, what were you doing with Mr. Rock-and-Roll-I-just-starred-in-a-Strokes video?

So then I had to tell Naomi of all people that I'd just offloaded Mr. wonderful in order to spend the summer frolicking with a boy with complicated hair and an English accent. Needless to say it didn't sound that great out loud. So now I'm a wee bit riddled with doubt. Yay Tuesday!

P.S.: Is it me or is Naomi getting funnier? I think I'm starting to appreciate her weird brain.
